Why tallow works: the science, simply
Tallow is remarkable because its composition closely resembles the skin's own sebum. It contains fatty acids very similar to those in human skin, the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K for barrier support, CLA with documented anti-inflammatory properties, and palmitic and stearic acids that help a strong skin barrier. Because these fats read as "self" to the skin, they tend to absorb rather than sit on top — which is why tallow suits acne-prone skin and sensitive skin, not just dry skin.

No — tallow is an animal product made from beef fat. It is, however, a low-waste by-product of the food industry rather than something an animal is raised for.
Does tallow smell like meat?
No. High-quality, well-rendered tallow is close to odourless. Our products are either fragrance-free or lightly scented with essential oils.
Can tallow cause acne?
