She taught me everything with her hands.
My grandmother never measured anything. She knew when the mixture was right by the smell, the feel, the way it moved. She would press rendered fat from grass-fed cattle into her palms, work it slowly across her face, and tell me — this is what the earth gives us. Don't look for something better.
I grew up in the Chechen Republic surrounded by this kind of wisdom. The word for Mother Earth in Chechen is Nana Latta. It was not just a name — it was a way of seeing the world. That the earth is generous. That the body is wise. That beauty comes from being nourished, not from being fixed.
Everything changed when I became a mother.
I had been living in Belgium for years, reaching for the same serums and creams as everyone else. But the moment I held my child and thought about what would touch their skin every single day — something shifted in me. I wanted to be certain. I wanted to truly understand.
I trained as a Health Advisor and Organic Skincare Formulator. I studied ingredients, formulations, the biology of skin. And the further I went, the more I arrived at the same quiet truth: what my grandmother had known, without a single certificate, was right.
The science even confirms it. Grass-fed tallow shares a nearly identical fatty acid profile with human skin sebum — the same building blocks our skin uses to protect and repair itself, naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E and K. When you understand that, something becomes obvious: of course our skin recognises tallow. We co-evolved with these animals. We are, in part, made of the same things. Nature did not leave us without an answer. It had already provided one. We simply forgot to trust it.
So I started making it myself.
I found a family business here in Belgium that has been cold-rendering grass-fed tallow for over 200 years. The same process, the same craft, passed down through generations. I made small batches. I used them on my own skin, on my children's skin.
The difference was immediate. Skin that had been reactive, dry, searching for balance — became calm. Not because I had found a better product. Because I had finally given it something it already knew how to use.
I could not keep that to myself.
This is Nana Latta.
Every jar is handcrafted in our Belgian studio, in small batches, with intention. The grass-fed tallow comes from that same trusted Belgian family business. The botanicals are chosen for what they actually do. Nothing added for appearance. Nothing left out for cost. Halal-certified, clean, and made with love.
But more than skincare, Nana Latta is an act of remembering — and of passing something forward. A belief that beauty is not complicated. That the earth is generous. That when we care for our skin with what nature has always provided, we are not going backwards. We are finally coming home.
We make this for you the way my grandmother made things for me: with care, with knowledge, and with love.

Our Mission
"Nana Latta is our part in something much older: the simple, common-sense truth that nature knows best — and that what has always been good for the body is worth preserving."
Beauty should feel like a gift you give yourself.
Not a problem to be solved. Not a routine built around fear of what you might be missing. A genuine, nourishing act of care — for your skin, for your family, for the body you live in every day.
That truth is not new. It is older than any brand, older than any industry. Nana Latta is simply our way of honouring it — and of making it available to everyone who is ready to come back to it.
For thousands of years, people cared for their skin with what the earth provided — grass-fed tallow, botanical oils, remedies passed from mother to daughter with love and certainty. This knowledge worked. Not because it was the only option available, but because it was genuinely, biologically right. Tallow and human skin share nearly the same fatty acid profile. The same building blocks. The same language. The body recognises it immediately. When you think about it, it is obvious — and it is beautiful that nature works this way.
Our mission is to honour that. To preserve the ancestral wisdom that kept people healthy and glowing long before the beauty industry existed. To hold onto common sense as something precious — because it is — and to offer it to every person who is ready to care for themselves differently.
This is broader than a product. It is a way of seeing. That nature is intelligent. That the body deserves to be loved, not managed. That the traditions our grandmothers carried were worth keeping. That beauty — real beauty — has always been simple, honest, and close to the earth.
When you choose Nana Latta, you are choosing love over noise. Beauty that is honest. Care that is real. And a belief that the most powerful thing we can give the people we love is something true.
We are here because we believe the world becomes more beautiful when we return to what is true.
We hope you feel it every time you open a jar.
